The D40 LED Pixel Tube is a 40mm diameter cylindrical RGB fixture built for architects, lighting designers, and project contractors who need pixel-level control in demanding outdoor environments. Operating at DC12V or DC24V, with an IP65/IP67 rating, SPI protocol, SMD5050, 120 LEDs/m, it offers uniform 360-degree illumination for media facades, stage productions and urban landscape projects — with a milky white PC housing that resists optical degradation from long-term solar exposure.
The device is a 40mm cylindrical LED fixture with intelligent IC driver incorporated. The individually addressable SMD LEDs allow pixel mapping from basic colour chase effects to synchronised architectural animations, all controlled via conventional DMX512 or SPI control.
Instead of static strip lights, this tube provides a consistent 360 or 180 degree illumination all along its 1 metre length. It overcomes frequent installation issues including dark patches in linear lines, signal attenuation in lengthy cable runs, and wiring complexity of 3D spatial mapping installations.

Material and Build Quality
The housing is constructed from UV-resistant polycarbonate (PC) with IK08 impact resistance to ensure the tube stays structurally sound on facades, bridges and high-footfall outdoor constructions. The milky white diffuser provides equal light distribution throughout the whole tube length, eliminating apparent hotspots even when seen at close range.
Each tube includes waterproof breathable valves and IP67-rated connectors. These allow the housing to equalize internal pressure during temperature swings without breaking the waterproof seal — a detail that matters in installations exposed to freeze-thaw cycles or coastal humidity.
The UC1903 IC protocol allows for pixel level control of each LED segment. When connected to an appropriate DMX512 or SPI pixel controller, the tubes allow chasing, colour waves and synchronised animations over vast arrays simultaneously.
Output flicker-free at ≥1920 Hz refresh rate – crucial for installations filmed by broadcast cameras or professional photographic equipment.
Signal Routing As with conventional DMX512 architecture: 1 universe = 512 channels (170 pixels) At 16 pixels per 1-meter tube, about 10 tubes per universe. DMX512 signal may be sent up to 100 meters. Adding a signal isolator every 30 meters keeps data stable for long runs.
The tubes include 2 signal lines to allow break-point resuming. If one segment of a led goes down the remainder of the tube will still work. This reduces the service calls on large scale permanent installations.
