The D20/D30 LED Meteor Tube is a linear pixel lighting fixture designed to produce cascading meteor-shower and snowfall effects through sequential pixel control. They come in 20 mm and 30 mm diameters, run on DC12V and each 1-meter piece has 64 SMD5050 RGB LEDs and 16 DMX512-controlled ICs per metre, consuming 15 W/m. The enclosure is made of UV-stabilized polycarbonate and rated IP65/IP67 for moisture and impact protection. Samples are available with a lead time of 5–7 days.
Clear outdoor pixel tubes commonly degrade from UV yellowing, internal condensation, and signal delay across large arrays. This tube addresses each of those points through specific design choices.
The D20 suits closer viewing distances and tighter mounting conditions. The D30 provides a larger luminous surface and improved heat dissipation, making the meteor effect more readable from longer distances — for example, in large tree-wrap installations in public parks.

360-Degree Beam Angle
The double sided PCB layout evenly distributes the SMD5050 LEDs around the perimeter of the tube to provide a full 360 degree output with no dark patches. This is important for tree wrap & cylindrical construction applications when the light source is seen from several angles.
DMX512 Individually Addressable Control
Each IC drives a block of pixels separately. The tube is a DMX to SPI decoder compatible and can be used with normal architectural and stage lighting desks. It can be programd with chasing, running water, meteor-fall and colour-fade effects on a pixel basis.
PC Housing with UV-Stabilized
The clear polycarbonate housing is UV stabilised to withstand fading and structural degradation during long term outdoor use. Units are tested in a UV weathering chamber to guarantee the clarity and integrity of the housing.
Voltage Drop Management
If the run is longer than 3-5 meters, it is advisable to infuse power at regular intervals. Working at DC12V minimises voltage loss against DC5V systems, allowing for more consistent brightness over longer runs.
Installation Method
These meteor tubes are typically connected in parallel; the male input end features a hanging loop for easy installation, while the output end consists of unterminated wires.

Municipal Landscape Lighting
The D30 is used for tree-wrap installations in public parks. Its structural rigidity handles high wind loads, and the 360-degree output produces a visible meteor-fall effect around tree trunks and branches.

Shopping mall exteriors and commercial buildings use the product to create animated "digital rain" effects. The SMD5050 output remains visible against urban ambient light levels.

The tube functions in -20 °C to +50 °C. The housing and internal components are built for thermal expansion, which reduces stress on the casing and prevents the intrusion of moisture in areas with temperature changes.

A: Use DC24V input and inject electricity every 3-5 meters to maintain the brightness of the installation.
Q: How well does the tube operate in coastal or humid conditions?
A: For coastal projects, add anti-corrosion end caps and PVC wire that is salt-spray resistant for less chance of terminal oxidation and degradation of the housing.
